Question: Why does the GM produced H1 Hummer us a Ford 5 Cut Ignition?

H1 Hummer

The civilian model began in part because of the persistence of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who saw an Army convoy while filming Kindergarten Cop in Oregon and began to campaign and lobby for a civilian version to be available on the market. In 1992, AM General began selling a civilian version of the M998 Humvee vehicle to the public under the brand name “Hummer”. The first two Hummer H1s to be sold were purchased by Schwarzenegger.

M998 Humvee

2000 Hummer H1 Broken Ignition. H1 Hummer 5 Cut Ford Ignition Malfunction. The Ford 5 Cut ignition failed and this is usually caused by a small piece of the buzzer jams the pins or get bunched up in the back of the ignition . In most cases it is easy to remove the broken piece, turn the ignition to the accessory position, depress the retainer pin and remove the ignition. However, somebody who did not know what they were doing, cracked the ignition and turned a simply car locksmith job into a bit of a nightmare.

Customer was happy to get back on the road. Note: H1 Hummer manufactured by GM, has a GM Diesel engine but uses a Ford 5 Cut Ignition.

How to Rekey Weiser Kwikset Smart Key Lock: If your Weiser smart key won’t turn in the lock it is usually because the lock has malfunctioned. Also, occasionally the key will not enter the cylinder to unlock the door.

Note: I do not recommend this lock, too easy to open with a simple tool.

How to Rekey Lock Schlage Deadbolt | Mr. Locksmith New Westminster

How to Rekey Lock Schlage Deadbolt: A rekey is when the internal mechanism of the lock is rearranged or recoded to match a new set of keys. This is basic security work and every locksmith should be able to do this quickly and affordably. A rekey means that the old keys, including the missing or stolen keys, no longer operate the lock, and a new set of keys will. This is the most efficient way to secure your home.

Locked Keys In Car | Mr. Locksmith Video

Locked keys in car: What should I do? Call Mr. Locksmith. In the old days, I would use a slim jim to open 99% of the cars with no damage. It’s  quick and easy. However, there are very few cars that I can use the slim jim on so we have to use other tools to open up the car. We have door panels,  airbags and we have sensors. We have lots of electronics for the proximity or remotes for cars. So now we use different tools to open up cars.

Hi, I’m Terry from Mr. LockSmith. I am looking for a franchisee for Mr. LockSmith Abbotsford. So for Abbotsford, British Columbia. Locksmithing has been absolutely fantastic for me. I raised my family, I’ve had a nice life, I’ve had nice vacations, and it’s all because of locksmithing. Whether we got a good economy, bad economy, we still make money as locksmiths. And unfortunately, even during COVID, we had so many break-ins at night in the city, or everywhere, it was just break-ins like crazy, and mostly commercial break-ins. We still survived COVID, and we still doing well before, during, and after. It hit us a little bit, there’s no denying that, but we recovered pretty quick.

More importantly, the training program teaches you how to become a businessperson. How to become a locksmith and make money. For-profit is not a bad word. We want to be successful, we wanna drive nice service vehicles, we wanna have nice tools, we wanna have a nice life, and nice vacations, and raise our family, so we have to become profitable. We don’t treat this as a hobby, it’s a skilled trade. We keep care of the training, but more importantly, the training teaches you how to become a businessman, or a businessperson, because we will have to make money. It is really important that you not only become a good locksmith, but you also become a good businessperson.

Being a locksmith is great. My grandfather was a locksmith, my father, my uncle. I had some of the best training in the world through family, and I’ve done lots of courses. Even now, I still take courses. A lot of manufacturers have good courses. So what I’ve done is I’ve looked at how we make money, and what’s the best products to sell, what’s the best services to offer.

How to Make Keys to Cars, Automotive Locksmith ONLINE COURSE

Open U Lock with a cordless grinder with a cutting wheel.

Open bike lock with a cordless grinder.

I use a Milwaukee Cordless Grinder with a cutting wheel to open most if not all Bike Locks. Just be careful where the sparks go, avoid flammable or plastics that can burn or pit. Wear Gloves and Safety glasses.

One of the best tools in the whole world is a cordless grinder with a cutting wheel. This saves my butt all the time. I could use a big pair of bolt cutters on this, but sometimes I find, when you use the bolt cutter, you can get a piece flying off and it could break a window or something or hurt somebody. I like this, you just have to be aware of the sparks will wreck your shirt. Also, you cannot be by anything flammable or anything plastic or anything glass. So just be really careful when the sparks shoot off of this thing. Usually, I aim the sparks so they go down, usually, it’s okay. So I am just going to cut off this inexpensive bike lock, I am going to use my cordless grinder. I always like to secure whatever I am cutting. I like to secure with a pair of vise grips. Now, wear your safety glasses, I always wear my gloves, just in case. Now, this is interesting. The battery is just a little tiny efficiency one. It is not big enough, not enough amperage, I guess to run the cordless grinder. So I am going to change my, swap my battery out. It’s the first time doing it with a little one. I just thought, “Oh, let’s give it a try.” Yes, look at that and look at, just sucking up the power on this. So I am going to just swap out the battery with a bigger one. I have heard about some people having some trouble with other tools. I have never had a problem with the drill. This is basically double. This is the bigger one. I have never had a problem using this. This is the first time using that. Let’s just swap it out real quick. Full power. And let’s finish it off. There we go. And remember this is hot hot hot. Don’t touch the ends, be careful you don’t burn off the bike. Yes, I could have picked this. It requires a special pick, it’s not that difficult, but I’m a for-profit locksmith. I am not going to make keys to this, it’s disposable. I think they paid 10 bucks for this. It costed more for the service call to get it off, but we didn’t destroy the bike. So, again, you could pick some of these, you could do whatever. My bottom line is I have to get this done fast and efficient and I just cut it off.
